By encouraging diverse housing development and digging deep into zoning laws that discourage this type of development, we can ensure that all members of our community have access to safe and affordable housing options.
Implementing Effective Solutions for Homelessness:
The homelessness crisis in San Leandro demands urgent and compassionate action. With thousands of residents experiencing homelessness in Alameda County, we need innovative solutions that address the root causes of homelessness and provide support to those in need. As your City Councilmember, I will advocate for expanding shelter capacity, investing in supportive services, and exploring alternative housing options such as tiny homes on public land. By prioritizing mental health care, job training, and permanent housing solutions, we can help individuals transition out of homelessness and rebuild their lives.
Creating Housing Opportunities for Essential Workers:
Our essential workers are the backbone of our community, yet many struggle to find affordable housing in San Leandro. I believe that everyone who contributes to our city's success should have the opportunity to live here.
